Bath Campus

The University campus at Claverton Down is set amongst green fields, overlooking the City of Bath which is about a mile away.

Founded in 1966, the University is unmistakably modern in both appearance and outlook. As a completely purpose-built development, the campus is more compact than most, with all major facilities easily accessible from a central parade. Shops and bars, laboratories and lecture theatres are all grouped around this area and are interspersed with accommodation blocks, creating a strong sense of social and academic community. The University buildings are contemporary, light and functional and the 200 acre green field site contributes greatly to a general feel of space and calm. A recent programme of major investment has seen the development of new undergraduate accommodation and new facilities for academic departments. The programme of development is ongoing.

There is a predominant sense of participation across campus; social functions are usually sell-out affairs. Music, drama and the Arts are all flourishing and there.
