Postgraduate Open Day

MA in Contemporary European Studies(‘Euromasters’ and ‘Euromasters with Trans-Atlantic track’)

Qualifications and durations
Overview

These highly successful programmes operating on a multi-site pattern will adopt a 120 credit structure from 2009-10 (subject to final approval). It is envisaged that this will involve three taught semesters taken at one or two partner sites, after the opening Core Module at Bath, followed by the completion of a 15,000 word dissertation, to be submitted by c.30 April.

The Euromasters programmes are unique, in that students study at two or three different sites chosen from a group of prestigious world class institutions, together with students from a wide range of different countries. Thus the programmes offer a genuinely outstanding and unrivalled international learning experience, qualifying graduates for a wide range of top jobs in European and international institutions.

Students who successfully complete the Euromasters programme will receive an MA degree which is jointly awarded by the Euromasters University Consortium and which is fully recognised in the countries of all participating universities and throughout the EU and beyond.

Academic entry requirements

A good Honours degree or equivalent in an appropriate subject (European Studies, Politics, History, Economics, Sociology, etc). Students are expected to be fluent or near-fluent in English. Applicants for sites other than Bath and those which work in English must demonstrate clear evidence of ability to work academically at the appropriate level in that language.

English requirements

IELTS 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in each of the four components).
TOEFL 580 (paper-based test) or 237 (computer-based test) with a score of not less than 4 in TWE or 92 (internetbased test) with not less than 21 in each of the components.

Unique funding opportunities
