MA in International Politics

Qualifications and durations
Overview

This programme gives students the opportunity to acquire broad knowledge about politics and policy-making in the contemporary international arena. Among its particular strengths are courses that address international relation theories, that analyse power, order and institutions in world politics, that relate globalisation to trans-Atlantic, east-West and North- South developments, that focus on issues of conflict and security, that explore changes in the global political economy, and that examine transnational issues, such as migration, organised crime and terrorism.

The programme consists of two semesters of taught courses and a dissertation module during which students write a 15,000 word dissertation on a topic of their choice and under the supervision of an experienced member of staff. Taught units that are offered in the programme reflect the expertise of the Department's research active staff.
