MSc in Digital Communications

Overview
A solid foundation is given in the first semester by reviewing the principles and practice of modern digital communications engineering. In the second semester, common to all MSc courses, students will develop the scoping and planning of their chosen research project and will take part in group-based activities in engineering and project management, research and design methods, creativity and innovation methods and integrated engineering. In the final semester students will be involved full-time in their individual project.
Taught units include: Signals and Information; Digital audio and Signal Processing; Digital Communications; Radio and Optical Waves for Communications; Optical Devices and Communications Systems; Digital Image Processing; Satellite, Terrestrial and Mobile Communications.
Academic entry requirements
First degree (UK first or second class or equivalent) in Electronic Engineering/Telecommunications/ Physics/Maths.
English requirements
IELTS 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in each of the four components).
TOEFL 580 (paper-based test) or 237 (computer-based test) with a score of not less than 4 in the TWE or 92 (internet-based test) with not less than 21 in each of the components.
