MSc Economics & Finance
Overview
This programme is aimed at those who are more interested in specialising in finance within an Economics programme. Teaching is provided by both the Department of Economics and International Development and the School of Management. By the end of the period of study, it is expected that students have obtained an in-depth understanding of modern economic and finance theory and are capable of using advanced financial quantitative methods to enable them to analyse financial economic problems.
Core subjects: Microeconomics; Macroeconomics; Financial Econometrics; Theory of Financial Decision Making; Corporate Finance; International Monetary Economics.
Options: Financial Derivatives; Market Microstructure; Introduction to Quantitative Finance; Investment Management; International Finance; Public Economics; Applied Probability and Finance; Asset Price Dynamics; Banking; Risk Management; Financial Management for International Business.
The final third of the programme comprises a dissertation.
