MSc/PG Diploma in Architectural Engineering: Environmental Design
Qualifications and durations
- Full-time MSc 12 months, Diploma 9 months
- Part-time MSc 24 months, Diploma 18 months (both taking 4 years maximum)
Overview
This programme is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge base to create buildings that have a low carbon footprint and reduced environmental impact, yet provide the comfort expected in modern buildings. It leads students to re-appraise the design process and develop sustainability strategies for building projects. Graduates will be qualified to pursue careers as specialists in architectural and engineering practices. The programme is delivered in a modular format, comprising 10 taught units (seven mandatory, three optional) and a dissertation. Students are required to acquire credits for units that may be studied over a period of up to four years.
Academic entry requirements
Open to engineers, architects and suitably qualified candidates from other related disciplines. At the discretion of the Board of Studies students may be admitted solely on the basis of extensive professional experience in a relevant field.
English requirements
IELTS 7.0 (with not less than 6.5 in each of the four components).
TOEFL 600 (paper-based test) or 250 (computer-based test) with a score of not less than 4 in TWE or 100 (internet-based test) with not less than 24 in each of the components.
