MSc/PG Diploma/CPD International Construction Management

Qualifications and durations

3 years on average. Flexible study schedules can be agreed to suit domestic or work commitments (applicants may start the programme at any time; study sessions begin in May and November of each year). The programme is accredited by the RICS and the JBM.

Overview

This is a distance learning programme providing training in construction management for mid-career professionals from any background in the construction industry. It seeks to develop students’ decision-making and problem-solving skills critical for success in a competitive global business environment. The programme comprises eight taught modules delivered by workbook texts and CD-ROMs complemented by web-based activities and support. Students taking the MSc also complete a dissertation. Fourteen days of residential teaching are attended during the programme. A dedicated management team of academics and support staff provides comprehensive learner support. Individual modules may be taken on a continuing professional development (CPD) basis.

Academic entry requirements

A first degree from a recognised university, or a professional qualification such as MCIOB, MRICS, RIBA. For non-graduate applicants with substantial experience in the construction industry an access route is available.

English requirements

IELTS 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in each of the four components).
TOEFL 580 (paper-based test) or 237 (computer-based test) with a score of not less than 4 in TWE or 92 (internetbased test) with not less than 21 in each of the components.
