Why did you choose the Bath MBA?

The Bath MBA has a good balance between general management and personal development courses. There is a module called Developing Your Managerial Competence which helps you develop your leadership skills through self-awareness, reflection and sense-making. The University is also located in a beautiful city and very close to London.

How did you first hear about the University and the School of Management?

I first learned about the University and the Bath MBA through the various MBA rankings and the internet. I also asked a couple of friends about it and their response was favourable.

Did you enjoy the programme? Was it what you expected?

I had a great time and it was more than I expected. We have very good professors - most of them have industry experience which gives you a good balance between the academic and business worlds. Guest speakers from top companies in the UK also made it more interesting.

Was the experience rewarding? What did you learn?

It is a very enriching experience from a career and personal perspective. Coming from a finance background, and having worked for top multinational companies, the Strategy and Marketing courses have made me more well-rounded as a person, ready to face the challenges of the business world. Our class has a good mix of nationalities and industry backgrounds, which have not only given me international insights but have widened my network as well. The very interactive nature of class lectures develops your public speaking and critical thinking skills.

What is it like to study at Bath?

Bath is a city that is very conducive to learning, and is a safe and quiet place. Its close proximity to London and other major cities allows you to travel and discover other places. The city, itself a tourist destination, provides you with a lot of options for food, shopping and entertainment.

What are you doing now?

I am about to work on my dissertation, a strategic marketing project with one of the top companies in the UK. I consider this as the culmination of my MBA as it integrates our key learning areas and at the same time allows you to focus and develop your chosen field of expertise.

Would you recommend the University to others?

Yes, definitely. Aside from its excellent reputation, the University of Bath and the MBA staff will make you feel at home and well taken care of, which I think is very important for international students.
