Why did you choose the Bath MSc in Marketing?
After studying for my Bachelor of Business Administration in Geneva and in Nice, I chose Bath because the University has one of the best reputations and rankings in the UK. I also wanted to experience a new city and a new country. I had heard very good things about Bath and haven’t been disappointed.
How did you first hear about the University and the School of Management?
I heard about the University of Bath through friends and colleagues of my parents whose children were studying there and all of them highly recommended the University of Bath for the quality of its faculty, its beautiful campus, the security and the UNESCO-listed city of Bath.
What have you enjoyed most about the programme so far?
I have found the programme content extremely relevant to contemporary marketing as required by today’s top managers. All the module applications focus on current cases. In addition, I have developed a range of valuable personal skills, including skills in managing research projects, research design, presentations, document and articles analysis, problem-solving and organising group work. All are valuable practical skills for marketing careers. By the end of this programme, I am hoping to have acquired a high standard of knowledge in the principles, theoretical concepts and practice of marketing.
What have you learnt so far?
The School of Management uses a practical teaching format on the programme, mixing theory and practice through project work, case studies and practical sessions. We are taught to use team-work skills and through discussion and brainstorming, we get to understand ourselves better.
What is it like to study at Bath?
Studying at Bath is a great and unique experience. I now have friends from all over the world and they have coloured my life so much. I am having a wonderful time at Bath and I am very glad that I have chosen to come here for my postgraduate studies. Although it took time to adjust, people on the course work really hard, and there’s a really friendly atmosphere. The staff are both approachable and full of enthusiasm for their research areas. I have met some really nice people from a wide variety of nationalities and backgrounds, and I am sure I will be able to use what I have learnt at Bath when I start my working life. Bath is a city populated with many students, so there is lots going on and the shopping, bars, clubs, and cinemas are all great.
What would you like to do after you graduate?
After I graduate, I would ideally like to remain in the UK for a few years to give me time to gain working experience in a country other than that of my nationality. With my MSc in Marketing from Bath, I am hoping to attract employers and begin my marketing career.
Would you recommend the programme to others?
I would highly recommend this programme to any student who wishes to study the marketing world and who would like to enjoy high-quality teaching, accommodation and IT support facilities and who wishes to study in an intellectually stimulating and cosmopolitan environment. The University also offers outstanding sporting facilities.
