Overview
This new part-time, distance-learning programme is a specialist qualification in sports physiotherapy:
- meeting international standards of practice
- developing clinical expertise
- managing athletes of all ages and abilities
- enhancing athletic performance
- flexible and online
- offering a blended learning programme combining distance learning with face-to-face teaching and clinical skills practice
- providing an evidence based, problem-solving and clinically reasoned approach to sports physiotherapy
The programme provides an innovative blend of knowledge-based, activity-based and experiential learning, with face-to-face and distance teaching. Reflective, practice-based elements are provided through professional experiential learning and online virtual workshops.
Academic entry requirements
Applicants must meet these minimum entry requirements:
- degree in physiotherapy
- current registration / licence to practice as a Physiotherapist
- chartered Physiotherapist status (necessary for UK applicants only)
- a minimum of two years post-licensure work experience in a physiotherapy role
A consideration for entry will be applicants' ability to obtain practice experience in sports physiotherapy, and it is strongly advised that this is arranged prior to application.
International students are welcome to apply, and will need to be in a position to fulfil sports physiotherapy practice and experiential requirements in their own country.
English requirements
IELTS 6.5 (with not less than 6.0 in each of the four components).
TOEFL 580 (paper-based test) or 237 (computer-based test) with a score of not less than 4 in the TWE or 92 (internet-based test) with not less than 21 in each of the components.
