Isla Scott, Physiotherapist in private practice, Isle of Man and MSc Sports Physiotherapy student

"I had been looking for a Masters course in Sports Physiotherapy that fitted in around my life and private practice for some time and was thrilled with the launch of the Bath course. I live in the Isle of Man which makes frequent travel expensive in addition to time consuming and this course was flexible enough to fit in around running our own private practices and a small baby.

I was initially very anxious about my lack of IT skills but this has not been a particular problem after a steep learning curve and fantastic support from the University. I absolutely love the content of the course and have found it immensely useful on a daily basis in ways that I did not anticipate when starting the course, particularly topics such as recovery strategies, heat tolerance, and my knowledge base has broadened out significantly. I have started to question things and love finding a subject that challenges me and doing a literature search, something that I was not confident doing previously which has significantly improved my practice – and my patients love it too which is good for business.

As lead physiotherapist for the Isle of Man Institute of Sport, I am involved with over 18 sports and the sharing of information amongst other physiotherapists on this course has been invaluable. I feel inspired and the course has ignited a real passion for information which I just love, I find myself being one of those odd ones who carries papers on planes and boats now!! I am already thinking about my research topic and what to do after I finish the course as I don't want to stop learning in this intense way."
