Timing
What happens to my application?
The University of Bath Admissions Office will be sent a copy of your application form by UCAS. We will send it to the relevant Admissions Tutor.
The Tutor will consider your application and will make the following decision(s):
- Turn down your application - you will be informed via UCAS
- Invite you to attend an interview or departmental Open Day - we will write to you
- Offer you a place - you will be notified via UCAS
How the offers work
- If the offer is "Unconditional" then you have no conditions to meet.
- If the offer is "Conditional" then your letter from UCAS will explain the conditions that we have made. If you do not understand the offer or have any queries about the offer, contact the Admissions Tutor.
When you have received a decision from all of the Universities you have applied to UCAS will write and ask you to choose which of the offers you wish to accept.
You can choose one as your "Firm" or first choice and another as your "Insurance" or second choice.
If you do not want to accept any of the offers that have been made to you, or if you have not received any offers then you will be eligible for the UCAS EXTRA service.
Admissions Tutors receive many applications each year so it may be quite some time before you receive our decision. The majority of decisions are made between December and March each year, but this will depend on when you applied and whether the Admissions Tutor decides to interview you.
If Bath is your FIRM choice
If you offer was unconditional, we will send you accommodation and getting started details from late May onwards, and registration information in September
If you offer was conditional, we will send you accommodation
and getting started details from late May onwards. We will then wait
until we receive your examination results to see if you have met
the terms
of the offer that we made to you.
The University will be sent news of your results if you are taking
A Level examinations. All other results should be sent to us as soon
as you receive them. We will need to see originals or certified copies
of your results. If you place is confirmed, we will send you registration
details in September.
If we are unable to confirm your place, contact your Insurance University to see if you have met their offer and they are able to accept you.
If Bath is your INSURANCE choice
We will not send you any further information until we know whether you have met the conditions of our offer to you.
- If we have been able to confirm your place with us, but you have been turned down by your Firm choice then we will send you accommodation and getting started information as soon as we hear that you are joining us.
- If you have met the offer that your firm choice made, congratulations, and good luck with your University career!
- If neither we or your firm choice have been able to accept you, you will be eligible for Clearing.
