New International Office Structure
The International Office is now responsible for the recruitment and support of an international student community of 2500 students from more than 100 different countries. To ensure the leadership and strategic insight necessary to develop a cohesive and effective international student support service, a new post of International Student Support Manager has been created that will keep Bath among the top institutions in the UK for such provision, as measured by such benchmarking tools as the International Student Barometer and National Student Survey. The post is being filled by Nicola Peacock, previously Internationalisation Development Manager at Bournemouth University and she will be joining the International Office team on 12 March 2008.
A decision has also been made to integrate the activities of the International Office and Students' Union with a particular focus on
- collaborative projects between the two that pool the expertise and resources of both, and
- facilitating integration between UK and international students.
In order to achieve this aim Aste Dahl, one of our International Student Advisers, will now take on a duel role spending her time equally in the Students' Union and the International Office.
