Interested in Latin America? Join BATLAM!
A new venue for Latin Americanists, Latin Americans and all those with an interest in Latin America has been established at the University of Bath: The Bath Latin American Network (BATLAM).
BATLAM is a network of experts in different thematic areas united by a common interest in contemporary Latin America. In the framework of the University European Research Institute, BATLAM is the section devoted to the study of Latin America, with particular reference to its relations with Europe and the European Union. BATLAM works according to a bottom-up dynamic and values suggestions and ideas from all its members. Students are particularly invited to participate.
BATLAM aims to establish and develop links and contacts with academic and research institutions, NGOs, business organisation and civil society at large in the UK and abroad, with particular reference to Latin America.
Among the activities planned for the next year are:
- Regular research workshops and postgraduate seminars on Latin America
- The inventory of the facilities available to Bath staff and students engaged with Latin American topics
- Latin American cinema and other social/cultural events
