Challenge 21
When buying alcohol in supermarkets or entering a bar or club, staff are now legally required to ask you for ID if you do not look older than 21. If you do not have either your Passport or Driving Licence with you when asked for it, you will not be able to enter the club or purchase any alcohol.

Living in Bath

Nightlife

Pubs serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Many pubs also serve food, particularly at lunchtime. Pub food is simple and cheap but some pubs serve restaurant-quality (and so more expensive) dishes. Most pubs open at 11:00 and close at 23:00 but some stay open later.

After the pubs close, there are a few nightclubs in Bath open until 02:00. Some have student nights with discounts and games.

On campus there are two student bars: the Parade Bar and the Plug Bar - and a nightclub, Elements.

Alcohol

Drink alcohol if you want to, but it is perfectly acceptable to drink non-alcoholic drinks, a wide variety of which are served in all bars and cafés. The legal age at which you can buy alcohol in the UK is 18 and over.

Smoking

Smoking is prohibited in pubs and restaurants, in most public buildings and on all trains and buses. Most pubs or clubs will have outdoor smoking areas.
