Partners' Group

The International Student Partners' Group provides a friendly atmosphere for partners of international students to meet other partners, make friends and learn about British culture. Children are welcome and the ability to speak English fluently is not important! Elementary and Advanced students can all benefit from the opportunity to practise their English in an informal setting - and it's free!

The group meets at Widcombe Baptist Church (near the railway station at the bottom of Widcombe Hill - click here for directions and a map) on Tuesday mornings from 10:00 until 12:00 and focuses on some aspect of life in this country, led by a trained teacher. Sometimes there will be practical sessions to look around the city and occasionally there are bus trips to local places of interest.

Here are some of the things the group does in the year:

Getting to Know Bath

English language work, finding your way, asking directions, visits to the Library, Guildhall, Bath Abbey, Victoria Art Gallery.

Getting to know Britain

Trips to Bristol and Wells near-by, to country houses, historic towns and villages, wildlife and the countryside. Understanding the UK, healthcare, customs, festivals etc.
