Who we are

The International Office are here to help you in a number of ways. We offer advice on how to apply for our courses, what qualifications are needed, and how to match your qualifications to our requirements. We also provide details on fees and finance and information about the City of Bath and student life. We regularly travel overseas to meet with prospective students, their families and our alumni and look forward to meeting you soon.

The International Office not only provides you with all the information and advice you need to make your application, we also have a dedicated team to support you during your time at the University. The team works closely together to ensure that international students coming to Bath receive a very warm welcome.

Responsibilities & Roles

Sarah Crampin - Study Abroad Administrator
Sarah is responsible for Exchange and Visiting Students, who take time out from their home university to study abroad with us at Bath for one semester or one year of their degree. She also works with the students who go out from Bath to partner universities, and administers exchange agreements and the LLP-Erasmus programme.

Rebecca Bruce - International Student Adviser
Rebecca works as an International Student Adviser both in the Students' Union (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning) and in the International Office (Wednesday afternoon, Thursday and Friday). She shares responsibility with Jessica for the welfare and support of International Students.

Secil Fuller - Study Abroad Assistant
Secil looks after the day-to-day administration of the Study Abroad section, handles enquiries from students and partner institutions and works with Sarah to support the University's Exchange and Study Abroad activities, especially those which relate to incoming students.

Andrew Howman - Head of International Office
Andy oversees the University's international student recruitment programme and matters relating to welfare and support once students arrive at Bath. He regularly attends education exhibitions, conducts counselling sessions and presentations, and visits institutions overseas focusing on Thailand and Vietnam, the Middle East, North America and Australasia.

Virginia Irwin - Deputy Head of International Office
Virginia has responsibility for the recruitment of students from China, Pakistan, Vietnam and the European Union. She regularly visits these countries to attend exhibitions, give presentations to schools and universities and to meet students in individual counselling interviews. She also has special responsibility for recruitment to the foundation programme.

Nicola Peacock - International Student Support Manager
Nicola oversees the University's international student support provision, including welfare and immigration advice for students. She also works closely with the Student Union and academic departments to ensure that international students have an enjoyable and rewarding experience when they come to Bath and feel able to successfully contribute to campus social and academic life. Nicola has recently joined the team having worked at Bournemouth University in a similar role for several years.

Jo Power - International Officer
Jo joined the International Office in December 2007, and is the country manager for Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Brunei, Singapore, Nigeria and Norway. She makes regular visits to these countries for exhibitions, school visits, interviews, presentations and pre-departure briefings. She previously worked as Communications Officer for the British Council in London, focussing on the promotion of the international opportunities for schools in the UK and around the world through partnerships and professional development.

Jessica Scott - International Student Adviser Jessica shares responsibility with Rebecca for the welfare and support of international students. She provides advice on a wide range of issues, from immigratoin to cultural adaption, and also organises the Orientation Programme along with social events. Jessica also manages the email list, newsletter, advice website and represents international students at University meetings and in the community.

Zoe Whittle - International Officer
Zoe has responsibility for the recruitment of students from India, Sri Lanka, Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Iran, Japan and South Korea. As country manager she regularly meets with future students, their families and our alumni on her visits overseas. She visits school and colleges and conducts interviews, presentations and pre-departure briefings.
